Kid DIY Playhouse Plans - Backyard Storage Shed Workshop Mini Cottage Guest House

My Grandkids help me build this and they love it! These DIY Playhouse Plans were designed especially for my youngest grandson. His friends and him use it as their club house / work shop. I have included a picture of their sign in this ad to show you. I installed a folding workbench for them as well. (You can find those plans in my store as well). To stop the little gaffers from peeing behind the shop I also installed a urinal and sink. This is a great design because once the kids are grown you can use it as a beautiful garden shed. Very easy to build! These plans will include a Bill of Materials as well to make easy shopping.

What are Kid Playhouses?
"What is a Playhouse?" is an accessible guide to the playhouse industry of sixteenth-century England. This book offers a new take on playhouse architecture, the multiple functions of a playhouse, and the communities, crowds, and proprietors that built and used them. It will be an invaluable resource for parents, educators, and children alike. If you're considering building your own playhouse, this book can help you plan its design and construction.

Materials
First, determine the location of your playhouse. Ideally, it will be situated on level ground, where doors can be opened easily. You will also want to find an area where the weather is pleasant. For instance, young trees, foliage, and weeds may have a negative impact on the structure. If possible, avoid building it underneath tall trees. In addition, extreme weather can also damage the wood, so try to avoid it if possible.

Safety
You can check the safety of a playhouse regularly by inspecting it from the outside. Children will spend hours playing inside it, so you should take precautionary steps to keep it safe. Ensure that it is located in an area that is easily accessed from the house. You can also check that the material of the roof is reclaimed wood and free from lead paint. Make sure that the windows are made of safety glass or plexiglass.

Size
Before buying a playhouse, make sure to measure the space. Whether the playhouse is going to be used by one child or many, it's important to know how much space it will take up in your backyard. Remember, a playhouse can grow with your child. A prefabricated playhouse will likely fit your needs when it's first installed, but a custom playhouse is going to grow with them. This will save you money in the long run.

Cost
The cost of a playhouse depends on its size, material, finishing and features. Depending on the design, a simple 5x5 playhouse can cost as little as a couple hundred dollars, while a more elaborate 8x10 playhouse can cost up to $4,000 or more. Prefab wooden playhouses can be built for as little as $300, while custom-built playhouses may cost as much as $100,000. Whether you build a playhouse yourself or hire a construction company can greatly reduce the cost of playhouses.

Placement
Before you purchase a playhouse, you should determine the area of the yard where the structure will be placed. If you have a concrete patio, you can place the playhouse next to it. In order to make it safer for your child, place it where children cannot fall out. In addition, you should measure the space and double check its measurements before you purchase it. You should also consider the location of the swing set if it is attached to a playhouse.
